When I participated in P.S.1/MoMA International studio program 2001-2002, this project was done as the participation piece with local residences of NY. The participants made small parachutes from tissue paper and strings. These parachutes were tied up with message written by the participants.
I collected these parachutes, then released them from the roof of the PS1 building into the courtyard. Audiences can pick up and take them away.
